Catch Me If You Can!

This spring at the Neil Simon Theatre make sure to ‘catch’ Catch Me If You Can, a new musical on Broadway. A star studded Broadway cast lead by Aaron Tveit and Norbert Leo Butz rounds out amazing costumes, production numbers, and is based on a great, true story!

While some subject matter doesn’t lend itself to the very young crowd, older teens accompanied by their parents should find the show entertaining and also possibly relatable, as Abagnale Jr. is 16 when the story begins. From the minute the curtain goes up, it is a fast paced, lively story that draws you into this story and really makes you care for the characters.

Drawing from the movie of the same name and brought to you by much of the same team that created Hairspray on Broadway, Catch Me If You Can follows the early years of Frank Abagnale, Jr. a con man with such valuable skills that after serving his time once being caught for fraud, he has been associated with the FBI for more than 35 years.

The story follows a young Frank and his antics as he tries to move up in the world and away from a broken home. There are many lovely relationships in the show among the characters. Specifically between Abagnale Jr. (Tveit) and his father (Tom Wopat,) Abagnale Jr. and what could have been his first wife (Kerry Butler,) and finally Abagnale Jr. and the Agent that pursued and eventually took his operation down, Agent Carl Hanratty played by Norbert Leo Butz. There is a lovely ensemble of showgirls and beautiful lighting that really make the show very pretty to watch.

Head on over to the Neil Simon Theatre at 250 West 52nd Street and “catch’ this show!
