Camp is Underway!

Tuesday morning and the first summer session of our 16th year is underway!

So far the kids have learned more than half of their Friday show, a showcase of Hello, Dolly!

Yesterday we had an amazing tap masterclass with Mark Ledletter from Anything Goes, which we are seeing tomorrow afternoon!

Also around the studios, Next Step, our July program for 15-18 year olds have been holding their pre -production meetings and are getting so excited for July!

Later on today we will continue to polish the show, and end our day with another dance workshop with a cast member of How to Succeed. We will be seeing that show in July for the matinee

Camp Broadway at the 2011 Tonys!

On Sunday, July 12, Camp Broadway took 30 Campers to the 65th Annual Tony Awards held at the Beacon theatre on the UWS of Manhattan. As apart of the Camp Broadway tradition, before the show, we met at a local restaurant for a fancy meal, and to hob knob with some Broadway Kids!

This year our special guests included Carly Rose Sinclare from Wonderland on Broadway as well as her mom Terri. Tade Beisinger and Tessa Netting from Billy Elliot also joined us.

The kids received a goody bags with Camp Broadway Hoodies and Broadway Show CDs sponsored by the Nederlander Association.

At the Beacon we took some group photos and then headed into out seats but not before making stops to purchase Tony Merchandise!

The kids really enjoyed themselves and for many, this is just the beginning of a Camp Broadway summer as they will be back soon to attend on of our weeklong sessions in NYC. Our first New York week starts on Monday the 20th and we also have sessions in July and August for ages 6 to 18. Be sure to head to Camp Broadway to sign up!

See you at the theatre!
