Calling all alumni! Where are they now?.

This is our 16th Birthday and to celebrate we have lots of excitement in store.

To begin, we want to hear from YOU, our alumni! What are you up to? Did you make it to Broadway, go on a National tour? Did you continue on to more theatre work regionally? Are you pursuing another aspect in the industry? Do you do theatre as a hobby now?

We want to hear your stories and memories! Please post below, check out the discussion board on this topic on our Facebook page, or email us at info@campbroadway.com

Thanks for all your continued support and see you on stage!

Day Three and Four!

It's almost time for the Friday Family Finale and we just can't believe it! There have been a lot of events and excitement this week.

Cast members from The Lion King, Mary Poppins, and Anything Goes stopped in to teach masters classes to Classic Camp and The Next Step and Tessa Netting from Billy Elliot had a talk back with the kids from Classic Camp at lunch on Wednesday before they attended How To Succeed. After the show, the Campers enjoyed another question and answer session with cast members. Before the show, we toured the Sister Act theatre!

Last night Camp Broadway held the first round of auditions for the Macy's Parade in November. There will be another NYC call on August 3rd and we will also hold auditions around the country. As soon as the dates and details are finalized with our presenters we will send out the info!

For the rest of today we will be rehearsing, cleaning our shows, and getting ready for the big day tomorrow. See you at the theatre!

July Camp, Day Two!

Today was another exciting day at Camp Broadway with special guests from How to Succeed on Broadway to teach the Classic Camp numbers from the show, which they will see tomorrow afternoon! During the morning tomorrow the Classic Camp will also go backstage at Sister Act in the morning before a lunch with Broadway Stars!

Today the Shining Stars practiced their temper tantrums in order to properly perform the number "I Want It Now" from their Friday show, Willy Wonka. Boy, were they cute!

The older kids performing Hello, Dolly finished four musical numbers in just a day and a half, and the performers working towards a showcase on Friday of State Fair, also made amazing progress!

Next Step continued on their rehearsals for their showcase Friday night. Can't wait to see their work!

Also, photos and video to come soon...

Anything Goes!

Camp Broadway is gearing up for its second week of NYC Camps beginning this coming Monday!

Our first week was great. Thirty kids from around the country (and Turkey!) came together to perform a showcase of Hello, Dolly! With special guests from The Lion King, and Anything Goes visiting during the week, the kids also got the chance to work with Camp Broadway's resident choreographer and head of our Dance Track program, and well our Camp Broadway's Artistic Director, Tony Parise (who is leading our performance in the Macy's Parade this year.)

Through the week our Campers had sessions in acting, dance, and voice. On Friday the performance went over amazingly well, in a real New York theatre complete with dressing rooms!
One of our Campers was even heard saying
Camp Broadway is the highlight of my life!
For the Wednesday Matinee, the kids were treated to a tour of the Steven Sondheim Theatre where the 2011 Tony Award Winning Revival of Anything Goes is performing! After the show, several cast members came up to the mezzanine to have a talk back with the kids, including several ensemble members, Justin Grier (a former Camp Broadway Teaching Artist,) and the shows star (or as the other cast members referred to her, their 'quarterback,') two time Tony Award Winner Sutton Foster, most recently for this, Reno Sweeney in Anything Goes! What a thrill!

Next week more fun is sure to ensue and we will be live tweeting (@CampBroadway) from Shining Stars, Next Step, and Classic Camp, as well as the audition for the 84th Annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade!

See you onstage!

Camp Broadway in the Macy's Parade!

We are seeking 120 kids ages 12 to 16 to perform in the 84th Annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade with us!

The Camp Broadway Kids will be performing the original song "There's No Place Like Here," in Herald Square for NBC cameras!

Tony Parise, our Artistic Director, will be leading 6 days of music, movement rehearsals, and on site rehearsals at Herald Square.
