Camp Broadway Kids on NY1!

Have you purchased your tickets to go to the NY Pops 28th Birthday Concert? The Camp Broadway kids will be performing so make sure you do at http://www.carnegiehall.org

This year the performance, Celebrate Hope, is dedicated to Bob Hope and features performances by Christine Ebersole, Cheyenne Jackson, and special guest Angela Lansbury among many others.

Some of the local Camp Broadway kids had the opportunity this past week to film a spot for NY1, a local NY Channel. Seven kids, most of who have performed with Camp Broadway at Carnegie Hall in the past, met at Pearl Studios with Steve Saari, a talented CB musical director, to learn “When Hope Was There” by Bill Schermerhorn exclusively for the CB Kids to sing! The kids learned the song in under an hour and also spent some time getting to know each other, talking about their favorite shows and also who Bob Hope is. Mr. Saari gave them valuable tips and tricks of professional performers such as ‘monologing’ the lyric of a song you are working on to help you to understand what you are sharing with the audience.

The kids then headed to the shoot and you can check out their spot below. Enjoy and we hope to see you next week at Carnegie Hall!
